Le collage est une technologie d'assemblage performante, comme le soudage, le vissage ou le rivetage. Mais, pour une mise en œuvre optimale des adhésifs et conforme au cahier des charges, il faut des connaissances précises sur les matériaux à assembler (structure, états et traitements de surfaces, résistance mécanique, comportement dans le temps,…) et sur la colle retenue pour cette application (essais de caractérisation mécanique, conditions de mise en oeuvre, tenue dans le temps après vieillissement, hygiène et sécurité,…).
